Take a look at how the madness marched on over to the diamond this week.
1. South Carolina walks off LSU in the 12th inning
Four hours and five minutes. That's how long the series opener between No. 19 LSU and No. 24 South Carolina lasted before the Gamecocks slammed the door with a Lexi Winters' walk-off RBI single in the 12th inning to secure the 6-5 win.
The contest marks the longest game in Carolina Softball Stadium history and the Gamecocks' first 12-inning game since their 6-4 win at Clemson two years ago to the day on March 20, 2024.SOUTH CAROLINA WALKS IT OFF IN THE 12TH 👏 x 🎥 SECN+ /

2. Isa Torres breaks NCAA record with consecutive hits
Florida State's Isa Torres etched her name in the record books on Friday, March 20, in the Seminoles' 12-2 win over Cal.
Torres notched her 14th hit in 14 at-bats in the bottom of the fourth, breaking the all-time NCAA DI softball consecutive hit record.

The junior surpassed a four-way 13-hit tie between Sydney McKinney from Wichita State in 2023, Jennifer Purcell from Nevada in 2016, Haley Ward from Norfolk State in 2013, and April Setterlund from Boston in 2010 to claim the sole No. 1 spot.
Her record-breaking at-bat was her last of the run-rule game. Can she extend it in game two of the Noles' series against Cal?
3. The last unbeaten falls as Grand Canyon goes down in history
286 teams with a blank slate at the beginning of the 2026 season shrunk down to two unbeatens heading into the weekend of March 13. Tennessee and Grand Canyon stood as the two unscathed.
After the Lady Vols fell to Mississippi State on Saturday, March 14, on Taylor Troutman's walk-off blast, the Lopes held the sole title for five whole days.
GCU's 30-0 record tripled the best-ever start by any Mountain West team and marked the Lopes' best opening record since 2023, when their 9-0 start was extinguished by Oregon State.

But on Wednesday, their perfect season came to an end with a 10-5 loss to Oklahoma State. The Lopes and Tennessee join three other one-loss teams in USA Softball's top 25.
