Most 3-pointers made in a game in men's NCAA tournament history

Alabama hits tournament record 25 3-pointers in Sweet 16 win

Alabama broke the men's NCAA tournament record for 3-pointers made in a game by hitting 25 3-pointers in a 113-88 Sweet 16 victory over BYU on March 27, 2025. The two teams also attempted a combined 81 3-pointers — another record. Alabama made 25 of its 51 attempts.

The old 3-pointers made record stood for decades, as Loyola Marymount hit 21 3-pointers in a second round victory over Michigan in 1990.

Senior guard Mark Sears hit 10 of the Crimson Tide's 3s, leaving him one short of LMU's Jeff Fryer of the individual record. Fryer hit 11 3-pointers in that 1990 win against Michigan.

The Crimson Tide made a push for the top two spots in 2026, connecting on 19 of 42 from beyond the arc against Texas Tech in the second round of the NCAA tournament, falling two short of LMU's 21.

Here are the most 3-pointers made in a single game tournament history, first by a team and then by a player:
